Poems I wrote long ago...

Madness (revised)
We dance like mad wind beneath life and beauty
Our fiery spirits shudder at the site of the icy moon
Impish feet trample long laid shadows,
Aching to dream one dream
Our laughter fills the cool night air,
haunting those who sleep
We taunt the sea... so that it may devour us
It answers not
We traipse into the darkness

Awake
Towards the darkened sea I turn my wandering soul and behold the waves crashing upon the sandy shore.

The greyness of the sleeping world is cast in every hue from every object to be seen, but I remain awake and aware while other drone away in the soft serenity of sleep.

I see the things they fail to see because they've closed their eyes...

I stare into the distance.

The cold chill of midnight penetrates my inmost being.

I shudder

The Way Through the Woods...
The night fell soft upon the land
The moon hung bright and still
The songs of winged creatures filled the air
The breeze sighed through the trees

A walk through the forest at midnight
Moon hidden above the trees
Creeping along the forest floor
Sight stolen by the darkness

Images of unreal things
Tiptoe into the night
Nothing there but silhouettes
Dancing in my mind

A chilling wind runs up my spine
As voices whistle through the leaves
Nothing there but songs remembered
From some dream long ago

Forests of the real and forests that grow within
We wander through them both
Lost or found, in light or darkness
Can you keep to the path of sanity?
